Proving exes can be civil, words of encouragement for Halle Berry have come from an unlikely source – former husband Eric Benét.
“I wish Halle and her partner a healthy baby and all the happiness in the world,” singer Benét, 40, said in a statement released to PEOPLE by his manager, Lynne Malone, Thursday.
The Oscar-winning actress, 41, announced she was three months pregnant on Tuesday. Father-to-be is boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, a 32-year-old model she met during a Versace ad shoot in Los Angeles in November 2005.
Benét and Berry wed in January 2001, but had a roller-coaster romance soured by his self-confessed philandering. The couple separated in October and six months later the split was official.
Ah, the serial cheater has decided to leverage on his former wife’s fame again. Ah, who can blame him? He did almost become famous when he married Halle Berry but thanks to his philandering ways he managed to destroy both his marriage and popularity. What’s his biggest achievement to date? Oh yes, starring in that big time flop, Glitter. And breaking poor Halle Berry’s heart of course.

I thought Halle Berry is surely going to be traumatised for life after the nasty marriage with Eric Benet, but thankfully she has found Gabriel Aubry. Breathtakingly handsome and seems to genuinely dote on her. I’m really pleased that they’re having a baby together and maybe Halle Berry would really reconsider getting married again. Who knows, third time’s the charm!

Sooo Halle got herself a “boy toy” for donation purposes. LOL……Let’s just see how long this will last. (Her track record hasnt been too good so far). Oh yeah, just to make a correction about the information under the pic of she, Eric and India….Halle never adopted Eric’s daughter. Just another one of those “untruths” that Ms. Berry so often tells to gain sympathy from the public.

Halle never followed through with adopting India. Yes,it’s nice of Eric to say that. Rumors have been flying all over the net that the baby is really his or he is involved in some way and it’s not really modelboy’s. Also, rumored Halle did in-vitro at the Pacific Fertility Clinic-LA in Westwood.
Guess we’ll have to see if it’s true.

For you Halle Berry supporters just because she’s “fine”, “beautiful” or whatever adjective one uses to describe her, doesn’t mean that she may not have her issues. Who knows what she’s like outside of the views of the cameras. She could be a real piece of work.
Eric is talented and was on the map with his music career well BEFORE he married Halle. A lot of people just slept on him. Personally, I think he does his best work with he’s “going through” stuff.

first of all, whoever said that Eric’s career or public persona was ruined? he was a star before Halle, while he was with her and now that he’s divorced from her. Eric has a very strong fan base seeing as how he’s an awesome vocalist and an overall great performer. if anything, the only thing that his marriage to Halle would have done would’ve been to put Halle in an already suspicious light and make her a public person who’s INFAMOUS for having countless failed romantic relationships/marriages. Eric may or may not have had something to do with that but REGARDLESS, he wasn’t in the marriage by himself. Halle seems like a cool person overall, but come on now…
also, as one previous person here stated, Halle did not adopt Eric’s daughter India.
