Why do we care that Adrien Brody bought a castle for his girlfriend of two years, Elsa Pataky? And when he said “bought”, does it mean that when he dumps her sorry arse that she’ll still get to keep the property?
Who is Adrien Brody? Well he won an Oscar for Roman Polanski’s The Pianist and then, uhm, I can’t recall anything else. Okay, yeah he was in the The Darjeeling Limited but that’s cause I remember Natalie Portman.
I’m cringing at these photos too. There are no better definitions of OTT (over the top) than these pictures.
The romantically inclined actor spotted the 19th century four-storey chateau while looking at houses on the internet. And after visiting the New York state property he decided it would make the perfect first home for the couple of two years.
Brody, and his Spanish partner, have now completely renovated the property, with a little help from designer friend Giorgio Armani.
In an interview with this week’s Hello! magazine Pianist actor Brody talked about finding his ideal home, and surprising Elsa.
‘I blindfolded her. Right at the castle there’s a giant, beautiful church bell. And I said “When you hear the sound of the bell, you can open your eyes and you’ll see your surprise.’ And then I rang the bell.’
Snakes On A Plane actress Elsa added: ‘I couldn’t believe it, I asked him “Is this place ours?”
